I just saw this at Williams Brewing - new to me:
https://www.williamsbrewing.com/Hom...-Clearflo-Ag-47-Antimicrobial-Beverage-Tubing
3/8" Clearflo® Ag-47 Antimicrobial Transfer Tubing
Are you looking for better quality siphon tubing? CLEARFLO Ag-47 is designed to protect beverages from harmful bacteria. It's manufactured from a clear flexible Shore A74 phthalate-free compound with the addition of antimicrobial protection. The antimicrobial technology is especially effective where there is infrequent use of fluids in warm or humid conditions and the tubing has no opportunity to dry thoroughly between uses.

The antimicrobial properties protect the tubing against organisms that can cause growth-based discoloration and odors. Testing has proven that the active ingredients neutralize bacteria rapidly, and because the ingredients do not dissipate with use, they can be expected to offer protection for an extended time under normal conditions. The active ingredients in CLEARFLO Ag-47 will have no detrimental effect on yeasts used in brewing. Maximum operating temperature is 125° F.

This tubing is 3/8" inner diameter by 1/2" outer diameter. Fits 3/8" hose barbs and siphons, including our Siphonless Fermenter, Fermonsters with Valves, and all our 3/8" outer diameter siphons.

Sold by the foot, enter the number of feet you need in the shopping cart above.

Also available in 1/2" inner diameter, click here for details.

Some time ago I got a shirt that was supposed to be 'anti-microbial' (it was a gift, I'd never have bought it myself) and it left my skin feeling slimy and lacking for air so of course; I looked it up. Eventually I found a couple papers on the subject, but now I need to risk getting political in an open thread: Marketing money talks louder than anything else. [not political, just a FACT of life today]. Owing to the times we live in [with no partisan comment implied], the CDC has been gutted and the original research is simply deleted and though I hate to make a statement without citation, here's a qoute from some cleaning site I found online:
"The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “has found no evidence to suggest [antimicrobial coatings] offer any enhanced protection from the spread of bacteria and germs and that proper cleaning and handwashing are the best ways to prevent infection.” ....the actual research discourages profit, so being deemed 'wasteful' has been removed from the public sphere. [Again Mods: I am making no comment as to wether this is good or bad and not taking any sides, but merely relaying facts to the best of my knowledge!]
I'm perfectly happy with EVABarrier and though the largest size you can get is 1/4"ID, if I really need 3/8", I'll just use the Bevlex 200 gathering dust in my cupboard and then, as it handles PBW and Star San just fine, I'll clean and sanitize it like I do all other tubes. I don't trust 'data' presented exclusively by vendors and at this time we are short on research-capacity of the more objective sort which serves the people but produces no profit. [Again: factual non-partisan statements and no politics save those the reader may conjure for themselves.]
:mug:

Sounds like the cure is worse than the problem.

Just blast some PBW solution through to clean the tubing, then a short soak in Starsan. Hang up to drip dry.

If it has too much gunk and can't be cleaned, toss and replace. Tubing is cheap.

The name strongly implies it's just impregnated with nano silver.

I personally find the proliferation of nano silver products a bit disturbing. The long term health and environmental impacts are not well understood.

edit: then again, 0.5% by weight of your brain may be plastic, so why non add some unusual metal ions?
