Well in starting a nano brewery, we will be converting about 4 stand up freezers to control fermentation temps.

Been looking at 2 different ones, the Love and the Ranco

I really want a controller that we can mount in the door for easy temp viewing and adjustment; what I have found so far is the Love one will allow us to do this (correct me if I am wrong).

Looking at this one:

Thoughts??

Thanks!

Auberins are also flush mountable. 2362 would be good for on/off temp control.

Also, I might add that the fermenters that will be in the freezer are 22gal conical fermenters (Stainless Steel)....I assume I will need some sort of thermowell for these.

Also came across the Johnson Controls A419 as an option. I like the ease of hookup of the johnson and the ranco; I would in fact prefer the love controller, but not sure I am skilled enough to wire it

i use the A419 to control my chest freezer for fermentation.

i tape my temp probe to the side of my sankey fermenter or carboy with bubblewrap insulating the probe from the air temp. probably would be better to have a thermowell that measured inside...but I don't want to have to clean it. my method has been working fine for me.

probably would save you 20$ to wire a love or auber including a mounting control box, connectors, wire, etc.

are they jacketed conicals? If not you can just attach the sensor to the outside of the conical

Nope, not jacketed.

I found a 24" tri-clover thermowell from brewershardware.com; figured I would give it a go.

Only thing I am trying to figure out now is if the Love TS-5 will fit inside it??
