Well, it is soon, and for those who have not been there ya need to experience it at least once. My last time was in 2008; the company I was working for had offices in Munich so I was pretty good at planning "business trips" at the right times of the year (Starkbeir fest the other). A co-worker and I took a day off and started at 11 am at the Hippodrome. Ended at 10pm, nine hours, and I had consumed eight mass - a personal best.

Edit: did not know I was limited to 10 images. . . . I tried to select the best.

Anyway, enjoy this glimpse and comments are always welcome!

Always a party...:tank:

Ive been to the Wiez'n at least a dozen times. My first time was in 1975. I was stationed in Augsburg (about 40 miles west of Munich). I think I went to the 1977 one 5 or 6 times and again in 1978. :mug:

I was also stationed in Bamberg from 1999-2004. I went in '99 but missed 2000 because I was on my second deployment to Kosovo then. But I made up for it in 2001, 2002, and 2003. ;)

Those pics make me all warm and fuzzy. God, do I want to go to Oktoberfest.

HB Bill, I am a 20-year Air Force veteran, 1991-1997 split between Boerfink (three story underground intell unit near Hann AFB) and Stuttgart, where I worked the Yugo problem. I spent time on the ground in Croatia during the Yugo war under the UNPRFOR flag. Crazy times for sure, but during my six years there I got to O'fest five times.

Jgourd, both blonds are sisters, Jen and Jessica; they and the dude let us sit at their table which was really cool. They worked for Brigestone tires and their company had reserved a block of tables, thru begging and buying a round and my natural charm I got a seat. Good times.

a few more. . .

This is what happens to small bodies after drinking big beers:

Off topic: We were in Kosovo together :mug:
Who are you or which unit were you with? Please don't say 299th FSB...:D

I went in with the first wave after the bombing stopped. I remember when Bondsteel was just a farmers field.

I was at Montieth my second tour.

SpaceportBP: I flew out of Frankfurt-Hahn after it went commercial...Ryan Air to Ireland...:rockin:

Same here! Remember all the friggin' field mice?!

I was in 10th SFG. We were across a dirt road from the helipad that first tour, and of course I worked over nights so the Blackhawks kept me up all day for 4 months!

All told, I was in Ksovo 3 times and Bosnia once.

My tent was next to the 299th FSB resupply point...CH-47s used to drop their loads almost daily.

I was a TACOM Armament LAR (civilian). I supported all the weapons. I spent alot of time on checkpoints (on tour) with the 82nd Airborne. I supported them when I was at Bragg so I knew about 15 people when I got there.
