Right I purchased a new hydrometer as the coopers plastic one was crap.... I have a ready just below the black line , about 1 mark below the black line, according to that it isn't ready ?? I will keep checking but I think it's staying the same now , does this mean it's fermented and can be bottled , although I won't bottle for another week (Sunday week) as recommended in here , it's the coopers larger home brew kit

so the reading in 1.012? what was the original gravity before it started to ferment? how long has it been fermenting? if you can, post or link the recipe.

It was at 40 before on the coopers hydrometer (which is broke now ) ImageUploadedByHome Brew1413475861.161128.jpgwhen I started and it has been fermenting for a just over a week , don't have the recipe it's the cooper diy brew pack ? , I'll see if I can find it

the reading itself doesn't indicate it's ready to bottle; it's getting the same reading over several measurements 1 or 2 days apart

Exactly. If I recall from your previous thread a day or two ago you were reading 1.020, now you're down to 1.012. Keep taking a reading every 2-3 days and when the readings are the same, you can bottle without fear of further fermentation, though plenty of people will say let it sit and clean up for another 1-3 weeks after you hit final gravity.

Thanks , I wasn't convinced about the hydrometer being correct but great advise , I'll stop panicking and check again sat
