i have read a few posts about people saying that they had problems with capping these bottles.seeing as i have recently come into a few cases of these empties i was wondering what the general concensus was with these bottles?i'd hate to ruin a whole batch because they won't cap tightly enough.any tips or recomendations would be greatly apreciated!!!!!

thanks gary

They don't have a proper lip for a handheld capper to grab on to. They will work, you just need to be aware and make sure that you get a good seal. You won't get the same capping action that you get with your standard bottles and it will just feel weird.

I agree with smitty,

I had a case of these but was hesitant to use them. I have a wing capper and tried 2 or 3 bottles and it was difficult. The capper seemed to get stuck on the lip. In my opinion, they will work but will increase your bottling time and frustration.

My advice would be to go out and get yourself two cases of some good beer and then get to work removing said beer!

+2 with Smitty...I've used them in the past with with no problem but over the years collected other bottles and weeded out the Amstels for the same reason Jenks829 notes.

'course these days I go corneys...bottle only when I want to give a gift...rare...selfish...:drunk:
