I am 3 days into fermentation of an Amber Ale. It is a dark color right now. Should it be an Amber color at this point or does it change later on?

Beer will always look darker in a carboy than it will in a glass. I wouldn't panic until you get it into a glass and its still too dark.

If like to see it turn out reddish when it's done. But if not I'm sure it won't taste bad.

As TheHopfather said, it will be much darker in fermenter as the volume is larger and light penetration and all that crap...

Take a hydro sample and put that in a nice clear glass. That'll give you an idea of finished SRM.
