Hey Guys,
I was showing off some pics of my brew set-up to some friends on fb and my buddy who is a grad student in engineering said this...
" just gonna throw this out there... If that keg is aluminum, I would recommend a switch to a cast iron kettle or something stainless steel... Aluminum is some nasty reactive stuff when you scratch the surface and get down past the oxide layer... fine for storage, but might do funny things with the added heating process."
I know stainless steel would be better, but I don't have that kind of money. Also, I know a lot of people use kegs as brew kettles.
Anyone got opinions on the dangers of using as aluminum keg as a brew kettle?
Thanks
