has anyone tried aluminium bottles, 16oz Bud/BL

will they work with a wing capper or do they have a different neck shape.

buddy of mine drinks them almost exclusively and always has them around.

They're twist offs as far as I know, so they won't work with a capper. You're better going to a beer distributor (if they have them in your state) and seeing about getting a case of returnable bottles for the deposit price.

I'm in Ontario and use twist-offs exclusively - never had a problem with them. My last batch was 50 bottles capped with a bench capper. Every one (so far - there's 10 left) was perfectly sealed and well carbonated. Perhaps US twist-offs - especially the aluminum variety - differ from those found in Ontario?

Cheers!

Our twist top bottles are significantly different from the American variety. Twist tops in the states are designed to be single use and use way thinner glass which presents problems for homebrewers. Bottles in Canada are designed to be refilled a dozen or more times and use thicker glass.
