For me...gonna crush some grains tonight.

A few freinds over for an early evening of white chili, shrimp, etc... and then over to the neighbors for a Wii bowling tournament...and oh yeah...ample homebrews.

For tomorrow...football in the brewshop while I brew up my 888-RIS. Probably spend the whole day in my jammies. :D

How's bouts you'all. What's on your platter for tonight/tomorrow?

We're heading out to one of our usual hangouts for drinks. Probably be there most of the night.

I managed to break rule #1 and I no longer have any homebrew! I've got a batch that needs bottling though. I guess I'll hit the beer store on the way home and get some brews for tonight.

Everyone be safe out there!

I'm doing absolutely nothing special for New Years. I'm actually cursing it. I ordered a regulator before Christmas and my Barley Crusher. 5 business days from my order means I don't get either until the 2nd and 3rd respectively. :)

No worries though, I'll be brewing up a storm once I can keg what's in the BB's and have a bulk grain stock. :rockin:

I was going to brew yesterday, but then I got sucked into my newest toy (Xbox360) and decided to put it off another weekend.

I'm heading up to the in-laws for second Christmas and New Year's, someone, please, save me...

Nothing special. My oldest is having a sleepover, and I plan to drink homebrew and probably be asleep before Midnight hits.

My sister and BIL are coming over and we're going to have a few drinks and let the kids play. I haven't really ever been a big New Year's Ever person - not since I was in my early 20's anyway

Nothing exciting. Got a BC for Xmas but still have more parts to gather prior to my first batch.

I never go out on New Years eve. So, I am bringing the party to me ;)

Yesterday I smoked a big ole pork shoulder that I will be pulling when I get home. Add in some onion, some rolls and some homemade BBQ sauce and all will be well. Plus the gals are making a bunch of appetizers, champagne punch and other good stuff.

The only thing that stinks is I guess I've been drinking more of my stout than i realized. Pulled my last pint last night  I was really hoping to enjoy that one tonight as it is going to be nice and chilly tonight. Oh well, guess I will be stuck drinking my IPA :D

Actually quite looking forward to it. Going to be relatively small with just about 6-10 close friends. Had to come into the office today, but I'll be leaving in just about 10 minutes.

I have friends coming over.

We each spent equal money on ingredients for one course. We draw lots and each cook a course.

We drink Beer, Wine Champagne, Whisky and Vodka.

We make it up after that.

I have a 3 hour start on the beer. ;)

I've got a starter going for a Saison that I'll be brewing tomorrow. Heading over to some friend's house tonight. After brewing tomorrow I'll partake in my yearly New Year's Day tradition. Sit down with a Macallan 18 and watch Casablanca.

Was going to hang out with a few friends, but instead I guess I am keeping SWMBO company while she babysits three obnoxious sled dogs that destroy everything in sight. I'm not too happy about spending New Years with a bunch of dogs.

I got my new 70 qt. MLT ready for tomorrows 888RIS. Works like a champ so far. Keggels are ready, but I don't crush till I'm ready to dough in. I want a fresh crush, not something that sat overnight in a basement with a bunch of kegs of beer on tap with a TV going and the sound of pretzels being munched with beer. Nooo, my crush will be fresh! :D

Hell, most of the past week has been "clothing optional" for me. Love it. Brewing in just shorts is fun.

I will revel in the day that I have a normal life. My wife and I both work in the service industry (bartenders) at seperate restaurants. I, J. Alexander's, and her, P.F. Chang's. Therefore, of course we're both working tonight and tomorrow. I really don't care that much for new years, but having weekends and nights off will be such a blessing once my wife finishes grad school.

I envy all you guys.

I am drinking some Stone IPA right now ( store bought ). We have a boatload of leftovers at the house and I am now deciding what to do with them:

1) Chicken, feta cheese and spinach sausage
2) Chicken, Apricot and Jalapeño sausage
3) Chicken garlic and broccoli rabe sausage

Probably do a cassoulet with the sausage or something else from Epicurious

4) 4 leftover sirloin tips ( see EdWorts Cosco thread and salacious grill porn )

Tomorrow I brew 14 gallons of a Stone clone.

I'm a chef and I'm working. Love the drucken amateurs we'll have here tonight. About 625 total. :)

But tomorrow its a birthday party at Chuckie Cheese for my granddaughter.

Wife and daughter are in England and I'm here alone. Good thing I have great friends who are making me come out with them (I wanted to stay in).

So I'm just going to a small (15ish people) cocktail hour, then we're out to a local bar to watch an 80s coverband. I'll bring some HB for my friends to try, and hopefully pick up something nice at the store.

Nothing special here, SWMBO & I went for a early Pizza lunch and a couple beers for me. Stopped and bought some baby backs to put on the smoker for a late supper and we will probably watch a movie and stay away from the madness tonight.

Made homemade pizza with my kids for the first time (pizza stone for x-mas). Kids loved watching me toss the dough. Didn't drop it either. Went over to a neighbors and watched them shoot of some fireworks. That's about it for tonight.

Planning on brewing on Saturday by hosting the club for a brew day. And I'm with Ed; crush your grains the day you brew. And I'm with BM; wear jammies when you brew.

Did a little shopping with my wife today. Failed in trying to return a seriously crappy Christmas gift but still had a terrific burger & Rogue Dead Guy for lunch, so all was not lost.

Exciting as we are, it was lentil soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner, the Simpsons movie and a glass of port, then my wife turned in. I'm up reading HBT. I'll drink another beer or two before going to bed -- making sure that we're snuggled together long before midnight.

The kids come home tomorrow afternoon, so if my fantasies of a trapeze and lubricant slip'n'slide are to come true I should probably get started assembling things now. And I'll have to make sure the festivities occur after our morning walk but preferably before the high fiber breakfast  . The sad truth is that when you hit your forties you start planning your spontaneity. It takes some of the fun out of things but at least you know whether or not you need to shave.

I had to take SWMBO to the doc today, nothing serious, but a quiet evening at home for us. I got a Schlafly Reserve Stout and Barley Wine for the evening. So i am spending the new years toasted while SWMBO is KO'd on Pain killers.

Cheers and may you all have a great and prosperous new year.

We had a big bash--turned out great. After the New Years festivities, a bunch of the hard core drinkers stayed up until 4:30 AM playing Rock band. It was a total friggin blast.

We went through about 4 gallons of homebrew in one night. Killed the keg of Lake Walk, dented the Smoked porter, and I'd guess the Weizenbock is about dead too. I was just waiting for that awful empty keg sound--but it didn't happen. The apfelwein even took a dent. The girls loved it.
