Aloha ! Stationed in Hawaii !

We are both new to the brew world (although, hubby has made wine before). I am not a beer drinker (gasp!), but he is ! We both love to make things from scratch and learn how to do things for our selves :)

I bought hubby a beer kit for Christmas. He returned from deployment this year (army) and I really want to make this Christmas special. His kit only has 1 bag of hops for a 1 gallon pale ale brew.

I would love any suggestions on how to improve on the gift. Specifically, were is a great place on the internet that I can order some more hops as stocking stuffers? Any handbooks y'all recommend? I'd appreciate any help. I just want to provide him with the basics in case it isn't his thing...

Mahalo (thank you) as they say here !

Buy him "How To Brew" by John Palmer, it's a terrific reference book that he will keep going back to and will answer I guess 90% of his questions.

Try googling homebrew supply stores..midwest supplies, Austin Homebrew and Northern Brewer are my standard online spots to look for kits and stuff..Being in ohio Northern Brewer is my go to..they are great..they have a high turnover rate so I get fresh grains and hopps..hope that helps Cheers! :mug:
