I'm looking for a tried and true dark lager Boch recipe for my first lager. I only brew all grain, thats just how I got started. I have ferm temp control and usually do 3 1/2 or 5 1/2 gallon batches. I just don't want to waste months on a bad recipe. Have a favorite to share?

TIA

I'm looking for same thing. I love the ZATEC Black Lager but can't find a clone for it anywhere.

Just did a tasty Doppelbock. For ten gallons I had 2 lbs. of Vienna and 2lbs. of Melanoiden malt with just a half lb. of Chocolate. The rest was all Munich 1.
Used Hallertau whole cones with a single 60 minute hopping for 28 IBU's.
OG was 1.081.
I used a starter from WYeast Bavarian lager but wanted Munich. They were out so Bavarian it was.

It's malty sweet with a little dark fruit up front but then gets chocolaty and then dries out with no lingering aftertaste. I thought it was nice for a recipe I just made up!! (After reading a lot of history of Doppelbock brewing! )

I just brewed midwests doppelbock. After sitting at 39 for 6 weeks it tastes awesome.
