I had posted in the "Who's brewing this weekend" thread about doing my first all grain batch last weekend but never updated to how it went, so I figured I'd post up here.

Everything went great. The mash tun I built (10 gallon Igloo Cooler) worked very well, and my mash efficiency was 76%. Brewed a Black Rye IPA, with an OG of 1.066. Fermentation has been going great and I'm excited to see how this beer came out. I must say, brewing all grain was so much more fun than extract. Years ago I had helped out on an all grain batch, but doing my first one on my own was awesome.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who have advice on any questions I had, and to say that this forum really is a great resource.

Cheers!
