I have approximately 24 gallons of hot wort in a stainless conical. My plate chiller was apparently ill equipped to handle the amount of hops I used in the boil. What is a good airlock option because it will contract as it cools gradually overnight. I am thinking of just leaving the ball valve on the lid open a tiny bit. I do have a hop spider for next time.

Just cracked the ball value a bit as I could not find a better solution. I will note any issues if they arise.

Fill a big bag (think garbage bag) with co2 and rubber band it on to the ball valve. kind of late to get any decent fittings, you have to make do.
