Air Lock Question.

Hi everyone!

New to this site and home brewing! I have a dumb question about the three piece air lock. After you put your water or vodka in the air lock, do you put the lid back on the air lock or leave it off?

Put the lid back on. It has fine holes in it for venting.

DUnno what you are brewing - but if you have some Potassiam Metabisulphate sanitizer made up (Wine makers use this more I suspect) use that in the airlock, cheaper than vodka, and I am sure that there are better uses for the vodka

The metabislphate will also kill any natural yeasts that may get into the solution.
