air lock not bubbling and sludge at the bottom of my first brew! what do i do?

Tastes like junk! Im not sure what i did wrong....

Put it away for a couple of months & brew another beer.
Try in again in June... if it still tastes like "junk"... repeat as necessary.
(it will eventually taste good... or be gone.)
