Don't be so harsh. The government signed a bill to give them money. The bill didn't have ANY LANGUAGE about not giving bonuses. The senators and congressmen that are grilling AIG should be hung. THEY SIGNED THE BILL AND DIDN'T EVEN READ IT.

Not really, the created a bill to allow contracts to go through. Its true most of SOBs didn't read the bill they signed. Probably even up to yesterday.

They had language to prevent bonuses but they amended it.

Most of them on TV are big fricken jerks.

Liddy is getting $1.00 for an annual salary but each and every congressman is getting 100,000 or more money from our taxes this year.

The execs new about this so they are greedy SOBs - They created the contracts and agreed to them w/o disclosing this to congress when they asked for TARP money.

The treasury and prolly the BHO new all about this.

Senator Dodd has his hands all over this mess.

its scary because Libby quoted some letters and emails he got saying things like "I would choke every one of them with a piano wire" and "blow up the AIG tower".

I know its not smart or cool for them to take the bonuses but I (and I'm pretty sure most everyone) believe they don't deserve death by piano wire.

I agree they don't deserve to be threatened. Nor should the building be bombed.

They should not be allowed to hide either. There are consequences for their greed. Look at Madoff.

I will say this about the names, they are or were employed at AIG. This is no proof that they took bonuses. Its just a list of executives.

I'd guess to say that several played a role in the current fiasco.

The execs are getting what are called retention bonuses. This mean most will lose they jobs soon, but there are give bonuses to keep them working until they are let go. Our anger should be at congress. They knew about this over a year ago and are just bring it up now to distract us from their crazy spending. AIG should have been allowed to fail. My uncle works for another insurance agency who didn't get money. Now AIG is undercutting prices. Every time government tries to help they just create more trouble. i don't blame AIG I blame government.
