So, I’m trying to age a bottle of cider I recently made to personally see what effects and benefits aging would have on my ciders. I used a clean and sanitized wine bottle with a natural cork that I soaked in Kmeta for 20 minutes. It is a tapered cork that I used a rubber mallet to gently tap the cork in with. Afterwards I dipped the bottle in wax. Question is this: I noticed a small drop of sticky cider that permeated the wax on the neck of the bottle. It doesn’t seem to be leaking anymore though. Should I be concerned? Should I not keep the bottle laying in its side? I’ve tried redipping it in wax I should mention. It’s just the natural cork seems it must be seeping ever so lightly.
