I Am ready to do my first AG brew this weekend. I was planing on using a fish pump to aerate my wort, but after seeing a post were some one created a venturi by adding a few holes to racking tube at the kettle. I thought that was really cool and messed around with it. During this i though it might be cool to hook up the fish pump and just force some air into the tube, this way i can still filter the air going into the fermentor.

So last night whill doing a quick dry run to make sure i was ready to go, i gave it a try, and it worked GREAT!.......until the kettle had only an inch of water above my drain port. At which point the bubbles over came the water current and bubbled into the kettle. I unplugged the pump, and it drained the rest of the way, still pulling some bublles throw the tube and filter, just a lot less of them. I then hooked the pump back up, shut off the valve and it was able to make bubbles in the fermentor Via the racking tube.

i was pleased with how it looked, and really liked how the air mixed with the water as it traveled down the racking tube.

What do you guys think?

Edit: the tip of the air tube inserted is cut at a angle to help create a venturi.
