I am currently working on my first batch ever! :ban:

I am a couple days in and have replaced my blow off tube with my vapor lock.

I am seeing quite a bit of sediment already so it is raising a question. I am VERY critical of everything I do. This will be now different so if my first batch is disgusting I will have a hard time keeping at it.

I am using a Brooklyn 1 Gallon kit and it doesn't call for a secondary but I am considering it any how.

First question would be, would you guys bother?

Second would be this: Obviously the kit only came with the single 1 gallon carboy. Would I do myself a disservice if I rack to a hold container while I clean and re-sanitize my fermenter and then rack back to it? Should I just leave it the heck alone?

Put down the racking cane and walk away from the fermentor. Unless it's a really big beer or you are adding fruit or something, a secondary won't help anything. If you can stand it go three weeks in the primary, then bottle. Read this thread:

Good luck.

That's funny, nope I'm good. Believe it or not I'm not touchy feely on my first batch. I do look at it like good porn but just noticed a lot more sediment than expected so I started thinking clarity and quality.

I think I will go 3 weeks rather than the suggested 2 weeks then bottle.

I have to admit that in the couple days already, the clearing of the wert has been fascinating to me.
