So I have been doing a lot of ciders lately as they are super cheap. Also with 2 young kids at home, its great cause it takes basically a half hour to do a 5 gallon batch. This is the recipe I have been doing which is stupid easy:

7 3qt bottles of Great Value Apple Juice
2.25 lb Corn Sugar
Yeast - Mangrove Jack's 02 Cider Yeast (basically awesome!)

OG around 1.065 FG consistently at 1.000 = 8.5%

I like the taste of it as is, dry but not too dry, and a little tart.

I made a batch that I'm going to keg and force carb for my fantasy draft, but really want to get the abv down to around 6%. I am going to backsweeten it with like 1 can of apple juice concentrate, but I was wondering if anyone has ever watered down cider. Perhaps mixing 1.5 cans in concentrate, to a gallon of bottled drinking water. I'll go ahead and rack 4 gallons into the keg on top of some sorbate, put it in the fridge overnight, and then back sweeten.

Thoughts? Thanks everyone

Maybe I'm missing something, but why don't you just add a little bit less of that corn sugar?
