I'm heading up to the adirondaks in a few weeks for a few days and am looking for a nice cabin to rent, I'm not looking for anything fancy and can't seem to find anything at a reasonable price, it's all at least 200$ a night and for that price I would stay in a hotel, I was wondering if anyone knew any cabins/cottages for rent at a decent price... Around 100$ a night.

Most things in the area are weekly rentals. Where in the Adirondacks are you looking to stay? Best advice for a cheap rate it to look at some of the smaller lesser known lakes and avoid larger ones like Lake George.

Contact a realty company in the area. The two biggest ones I know of are Gallo (518-494-4600) and Glebus (518 532-7191). Not sure how localized they are and if they cover a lot of the Adirondacks or just a small area, but those are the 2 companies I see the most of in Chestertown, NY. It should at least get you on the right track though.

Don't know if you left already or not, but if I were you I'd look in the Saranac Lake area. I grew up near the adirondack park and know the area fairly well. Saranac lake has a nice hotel and I'm sure a cheap cabin would be fairly easy to find around that area. It's only 10 minutes from lake placid and close to a lot of great hiking including the high peaks region . There is a visitor interpretive center designed by recreation students at Paul Smiths college nearby as well...there are some really great trails there too. Lake placid has some decent beer spots too like the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery and Great Adirondack Steak and Seafood.
