My meads finish dry and don’t carb very well even though I use the carb drops. I suspect the yeast has done its thing.
I read about sprinkling a yeast onto the mead at bottling to get a little fermentation going. Does anyone have a recommendation for how much yeast for a 1 gallon brew? And would it be added to the whole brew or each bottle? (I would think the whole brew)
Thanks

If dry 1.000 or less then add enough sugar to raise the gravity .002 to .003 points dissolve in a cup or so of warm water and add a gram or two of yeast after it cools to room temp. Mix well and bottle you should de good to go. Priming sugar calculators on the web should be able to get you ghe amount of sugar you will need.

If mot ag 1.000 then get it a bit warmer and wait it out another couple weeks to a month might do it for you.
