I have 40 gallons of fresh unfiltered apple cider so this weekend Im going to start 8 - 5 gallon batches of hard cider.

I want to add fresh pears that have been put through a blender to one five gallon batch.

Im hoping some of the pear flavor will come through?
Will this work?
And any suggestions on how many pears to add for five gallons of cider?

Just adding pear puree will add a LOT of sediment to your cider. I think you'd be better off by chopping the fruit & containing it in a mesh sack. You'll still get some sediment, but it'll be a lot less. You will get some flavor from those pears. Not sure how much pear you'll need for a balance between the apple & pear flavors. Be sure to use pectic enzyme though, it'll help break down the pectins.
Regards, GF.

the juice is unfiltered so there is already sediment!!!
Im just going to wing it on the amount of pear.

Thanks for the response.
