Sooo..... about a week ago I brewed a lager. The plan was a 1.048 OG. Instead I got a 1.037. It was late and I figured it wasnt the end of the world..... so I went with it. Now, a week or so later I come up with the idea to add a little honey.

Is this a bad idea? If not, would it be better to add honey now in the primary while at 50 degrees....... or transfer to secondary, add honey, and let it all lager in the mid 30's. Right now it is in primary and more or less done fermenting. Any thoughts would be great. :drunk:

honey will basically only serve to lighten the body of your beer. not sure i'd choose to do what you're proposing.

Personally, I'd just roll with your OG and enjoy a nice light refreshing beer.

I'd add the honey to the primary at the higher temp. Honey is harder for yeast to ferment, and I'm not sure how well the yeast will do the job at 35 deg.

Another thought would be to make a whole another batch of beer with an OG of 1.055 or so, then blend the two.
