Doing a Bourbon Barrell Stout that just finished up fermentation for my 5th brew.

Instructions say put the cubes into a secondary, but I was wondering if it would be better to put the cubes into the primary through the stopper for the airlock. My thinking is this would add less oxygen as I will be transferring to a bottling bucket to bottle eventually after aging as long as I can stand.

Thanks in advance!

The disadvantage with doing this in primary is that the beer will remain on the trub. That said, it could be fine, assuming that the beer won't be there for a lot longer.
