(I searched the forms to see if there was a topic covering basics and I couldn't really find one... Sorry if there is one!)

So, I've read a ton of the builds here and it has made me very, very excited to embark on my keezer build. I have acquired a 7.2 cu ft Frigidaire chest freezer that with a collar I should be able to fit 5 kegs.

This is going to have a coffin style due to it being in the house and the wife wanting it to look nice. One of the units I've seen that's been my inspiration has been this: http://cdn.instructables.com/FUF/2KDI/H6730KDM/FUF2KDIH6730KDM.MEDIUM.jpg

So, what should I know before I start? I have 2 corny kegs and the chest freezer, as well as a 7 lbs CO2 tank that I'm planning on probably mounting on the back. I'm probably getting way too ambitious as I'm thinking about putting a small monitor in the tower that will display my tap list using raspberrypints!

Thanks for any support you guys might have!

Good info for a newbie like me on this thread. I also just purchased a freezer and will soon be starting my build.

Thanks all! Using one of the links I found keg connection (I hadn't found that one) and bought a kit from there.

I did get a double regulator! :)

Eventually I want 5 or 6 taps, but I'm going to start with just 2 (maybe a third with a picnic tap for now).

If I have a double regulator, do I need a secondary regulator eventually or would a manifold be ok?

Oh, a parts list so far:

2 Faucet Fridge Homebrew Kegerator Kit
Regulator and Air Systems: Chudnow Regulator with WYE for 2 Faucet Kit (RA22C)
Disconnects: Ball Lock Disconnects (DC203-2)
Beer Line: 14' Beer Line - 7' per line (HO101-14)
Tailpieces: Stainless Steel Tailpieces - 2 (TP316SS-2)
Shank Assemblies: 2 1/8" Stainless Steel Shank, nut, washer, and clamp (SK102SSKIT-2)
Faucet 1: Perlick 630SS
Faucet 2: Perlick 630SS
Gas line is included too...

Bought separately:
7 lbs CO2 Tank
Frigidaire Freezer
Docooler 10A 110V Digital Temperature Controller Thermocouple -58~194 Fahrenheit with Sensor (hopefully this one works nice)

I'm thinking otherwise I just need some wood/stuff from Home Depot and I should have enough to get going!

So I figured a small update is in order...

Just the freezer and the temperature controller.

Hey look, a keg and a temperature probe.

This piece of OSB will be attached shortly to the top.

I have actually hooked up my CO2 and a tap inside the freezer currently so I can drink the tasty, tasty beer. But trying to pour from a perlick tap without it being mounted has lead to...spills...

Additionally I apparently forgot to tighten the shank when I originally plugged the quick disconnect in, that also resulted in the sad loss of beer.

something i just learned, redue any threaded parts that someone has sold to you with teflon tape. or lose 3 tanks....
