I'm about to keg for the first time. I think I've got my plan together thanks to everyone here contributing. Than you guys! Was just wondering if there were any tips or tricks from the vets that wanted to share.

It's raining outside. Football is on. And I'm gonna keg my first Russian imperial stout. Life is good!

It'll be great when I can get my nitro set up but alas... first world problems.

Thanks again to all who contribute!:mug:

Tip: If you are going to use a higher pressure and shaking/rolling to force carbonate faster, don't forget to purge out the oxygen BEFORE you do this.

I got all excited and forgot to purge, my first TWO kegs.

Good luck, and enjoy!

Welp, seems to have went off without a hitch. Sooo much nicer than bottling and having to keep all of them around. Of course I poured half a glass after about 10 mins of force carbing. Needless to say, it was still flat. Decided to turn it down to 3 ish psi and let it sit for a week or two. Can't wait!

What style of beer are you trying to carbonate at 3 psi? Also what temp are you carbonating at ?

You might want to refer to this table if you haven't yet

and this thread if you haven't seen it yet

unless of course your carbonating a stout at low temp then I will shut up.

edit: which are you are, I drank too much during the giants loss.
