1st time making beer it's a porter, I spilled some yeast this morning and some landed on a relatively clean surface so I scraped up and used it! Having 2nd thoughts about that and also wondering if I was short on the yeast if beer will be okay? Just assuming alcohol content will be lower!

I wouldn't have. In most situations with dry yeast there are plenty of cells in a packet, even if you spill some.

Cool thanks guys, one more ? I have 2 types of airlocks the one that looks like an S and the one with the slide, tried using the one with the slide and it seemed to lose water so I put the other one on! Is it just personal preference?
