It's that time of the year and the ants are out in force. I left a partial bottle of mead in the counter and it turns out the ants liked it.

If ants pee you might have more liquid than when you started... :tank:

After sitting in the mead for a while, they might be peeing fusels. Then you're back to, you know, aging again.

Are they fire ants? Maybe you've got yourself a hot marinade.

i made a mead with honey that had ants in it. gave a little bite i'm putting down to formic acid.

Did you add the ants to primary or secondary? And how much did you use? Please provide measurement in grams/ounces since as bernardsmith has taught us, teaspoon/tablespoon measurements are not accurate or reliable.

:D

Sorry... this thing is too funny and I don't want it to go away.

Wha? When it comes to ants there is no issue of accuracy or reliability. :mug: Ugh..

we'd need to be noting species if we really wanted to recreate flavors. ant pheromones are on a spectrum from fairly pleasant to foul.
