So I decided to start brewing about 2 months ago. As I usually do I decided to go a bit over board and get enought to brew 10 gallon batches insted of one 5 gallon because I wanted to brew 2 differant beers at once. I brewed an Irish red and a belgian wheat.

Now after 6 weeks we decided that we were going to have a "tasting party" to see how everyone liked it. It was a HUGE hit and it ended up being what everyone wanted to drink.

The most common remark that I heard from everyone was that my brew tasted "cleaner and more refreshing" than the normal stuff. Its interesting to remark that the Irish red ended up almost as dark as a porter and was a big hit with my friends that liked guiness and other dark beers. The wheat was huge with the ladies as it was very crisp and light...but still rocking a 6% abv.

I just wanted to give my thanks to the people on this website. I pretty much have comitted the info here to memory and it helped me a ton in the process.

Thanks,
Chris

Nice work! Sounds like you did an awesome job :mug:

The only question is - what's your next beer going to be?

Last weekend I placed into secondarys a brown ale and the same wheat recipe I did before but with 4-5 lbs of blackberrys added to the secondary. When the de-seeded blackberry puree was added to the fermented wort the color is TERRIBLE to behold. Imagin just the worst brownish-purple yuck color. But if it tastes good i am sure we will drink the hell outta it.

Ummm....so you aren't blind? Lol.

The worst home brew that I have made so far, was by far better than Budweiser.

Welcome to the addiction!

No im not blind but its a nickname I have had forever (long story).

Yeah me and a buddy of mine went to Wild bills here in atlanta and all they served was BMC. The only non-bmc they had was that fart-water people like to call heineken. So anyway we order 2 millers and I swear I could barely choke the swill down. Homebrew and the selection at the local taco mac have spoiled me I guess.

I plan on brewing everytime I bottle so i think ill always have beer in the house. I really really want to keg it but I live in an apartment so space is and issue and getting another fridge to convert to a kegerator is outta the question.
