Quick question. What is the difference between 60L and 80L Crystal Malt. I have two different recipes for the same beer. One calls for 8oz of 60L while the other calls for 1# of 80L. I have 40L Crystal. Can I make this beer and how much Grain should I use?
 
40:
Caramel Malt 40L is a roasted caramel malt that imparts golden to light red color.

* Flavor: Sweet. Caramel, Toffee
60:
Caramel Malt 60L is a roasted caramel malt that imparts golden to light red color.

* Flavor: Sweet, Pronounced Caramel
80:
Caramel Malt 80L is a roasted caramel malt that imparts red to deep red color.

* Flavor: Pronounced Caramel, Slight Burnt Sugar, Raisiny
 
Ummm, the difference it 20 Lovbond. Lol. Don't sub your specialty malts if you're shooting for a specific beer, they are NOT interchangeable.
