I just finished a tutorial complete with shopping list on youtube:

http://youtu.be/2VqJAtSpnGA

I made this kegerator to serve beer and/or soda from a chest freezer. Total volume on tap: 11gal at once distributed between 5 taps (4x 1.5gal, 1x 5gal). I have never seen anything like it, so hopefully if you decide to replicate it in some way, I have taken out a lot of the guesswork. Also included is what it cost me for shipping, something that varies often and try to catch the specials when you can.

That may seem like a lot, but when you factor the commercial kegerator price in it is a steal. Kegerator.com has them starting at $500 but only for a single tap ($740 for double tap), not 5! If you went with more or less taps than my 5 on this DIY project, your cost would change by about 15% per tap added/subtracted. If you're on a tighter budget, you could start with a couple faucets then add more as your wallet allows. Would it still work as a freezer if you needed it to? Yes, as long as you change the temperature setting.

Awesome! I've been wanting to do pretty much exactly that for a while now. Any chance you took pictures along the way? Would love to see a step by step, especially of the cap modification. I'm on a pretty tight budget, did the luer lock option for the cap mod work or were there lots of problems?

Also, how many tap a drafts do you think you could fit in there? I have a 5 cu foot chest freezer and I'm think six bottles/taps.
