Brought my work home with me last night to finish up last minute stuff before the first of the month. Made the decision to sample 4 oz from an ipa I kegged last Saturday. Apparently i wasn't careful enough when I put the beer line back in the freezer because I came back to 6 inches of ipa on the floor and no co2. The only upside is I pulled my stout off co2 so that keg still has pressure.

I will never do that again.

Sorry for your loss. That almost happened to me one time but fortunately I noticed it before much was lost. The cleanup was still a PITA, but not as bad as a 5 gallon cleanup.

Thanks for the condolences. I keep my deep freeze clean and had recently sanitized, but the kegs were not (I wash off the outside but didn't scrub). Ended up bottling what I could off the floor of the cooler, about 22 bottles worth; not sure if I'll drink them though but wanted the option.

I had a similar loss. Had my first taste of a Sweetwater 420 clone, stuffed into the kegerator with a Perlick faucet on a tube. The tube was stiff from the cold and must have bumped the faucet to "on" when the door closed. A total loss. Luckily my daughter got the second corny keg full from that batch. She reported that it is excellent and I was invited over to have one. I never made it to her place.
I made a second batch called "Murphy's Ale, after Murphy's law. Three weeks and five gallons of good beer lost. I'm still mourning!
