5 Gallon BIAB Brown Ale Recipes?

I am looking for ideas for my first original all grain 5 gallon batch (using BIAB.) I want to make a brown ale but I’m not sure where to start since all I’ve done thus far are recipe kits! Any ideas would be helpful!
...I’ve posted this before but now I’m actually only 1 week away from a summer full of homebrewing! ...also I just invested in Beer Smith so I’m hoping that’ll prove to be a useful purchase.

Janet’s brown all grain kit. Most people that brew it say it’s the best beer they ever made. It’s hoppy, basically a brown IPA. You can get it at morebeer.com You could also find the recipe in brewing classic styles which is a great recipe book. They have the recipe for Janet’s Brown and also a brown ale that is less hoppy. I would get the book if you have BeerSmith. One of the authors has a podcast and he gives you more tips on brewing the recipes in the book. It’s The jamil show on the brewing network. There are two shows on American brown. The books a great place to start. After you brew the recipes once, you can use BeerSmith to tweak them and eventually create your own recipes.

If you have a kit recipe that you liked, you could brew it as an all grain BIAB.

You could buy the all grain kit from your supplier, or buy your own ingredients and just follow their recipe. Some places (Northern Brewer for one) publish their recipes.

BrewersFriend has a big database of recipes, with functions to sort them by style, awards won, etc.

Most any recipe can be made using the BIAB method. There are lots of beer recipe archives you could search... this forum for one. American Homebrew Association has a database of recipes and you say you recently purchased Beersmith... they have a cloud based recipe archive. Just search that from within the program and save any one you want right into your recipe folder.

This recipe is insanely good. It's one of the few beers I'm compelled to rebrew throughout the years. It's not American, but it won't disappoint. Also, every recipe is a BIAB recipe if that's your method of brewing. No need to distinguish between mashing methods, unless maybe you get higher efficiency with BIAB, in which case you can adjust the recipe to reflect your efficiency and hopefully hit the target OG. Seriously, I urge you to brew this beer. Hops can be substituted here, with no real detrimental effects to the beer, as there is only a single bittering addition. Fuggles or Styrian Golding will work nice. I've even had great success using magnum to bitter this beer. Hope you you have an awesome summer of homebrewing; I'm getting stoked for you. Ditch those kits, man!

TARGET OG: 1.055, TARGET IBU: 25–26
Grain

• 6.5 lbs Maris Otter
• 1.25 lbs Rahr white wheat malt
• 12 oz flaked wheat
• 12 oz Simpsons Dark Crystal
• 6 oz UK Extra Dark Crystal
• 4 oz UK Pale Chocolate

Hops

• 1 oz English Challenger, or the equivalent of your choice @ 60 min.

Yeast

• Wyeast 1469 West Yorkshire

Made this a few weeks... It's amazing. The only issue I'm having is the yeast is taking along time to settle. Time and patience needed.
