I have a 5 gal round cooler for mashing and used a 1/2 cpvc pipe for my manifold. Works just fine. I recently picked up a 10 gal round cooler. I can set up the valving and just move the manifold to either mash tun OR make a new manifold

so here's my question(s)
will the 1/2 tube that takes up very little surface area of the bottom of the 10 gal cooler give me a good efficiency?

should i make another manifold that takes up more bottom area?

should the new manifold be 1/2 or 3/4 cpvc?

I would make a new one with CPVC, and 1/2 is plenty large. Think of the output on your ball valve, it can only go so fast.
