Looks like the Coleman 5 gal cooler is on sale at HomeDepot

$15 + tax free store pickup

Might be time to grab one one if you're looking for a cheap HLT, or MT.

Edit to add:

Looks like Amazon might be the same price, for now but ships in 1-2 months:

How much grain do these hold? I was steered away from the 5 gallon rounds thinking they wouldn't hold enough, and I went with two 48 quart rectangular ones instead.

according to the Green Bay Rackers Mash Calculator

12 lbs of grain mashed at 1.25 qt/lb (i.e. 3.75 gallons of water) will take up a 4.71 gal of space.

You'd probably need to fly sparge or double (possible triple) batch sparge to get your boil volume for a 5 G batch and you wouldn't have much room to adjust temps if you maxed out like that. But it could still work.

Perfect for smaller batch sizes, though.

Yeah, I had run the mash calculators before and saw similar numbers. I regular exceed 12 lbs, so im glad I went the way I did. The round cooler would probably be easier to store when not in use, but the 10 gallon rounds are so expensive. I guess the rectangular ones are the obvious choice. Thanks.
