So, I am brewing my Hop Nog, and it has been 48 hours since pitching. Surprisingly, there is about 3/4 inch of stuff on the bottom of my carboy. It is greenish in color which makes me think that it is the hop pellets settling, but 2 ounces of pellets do not equal the amount of stuff on the bottom.

The brewing process required steeping grains, so I am sure there is some of that in there too...

SHould I worry about this or just not pay attention to it?

If this followed an aggressive fermetation, like with nothingham, it is fine.

However, if it did not aggressively ferment, you might want to pitch some fresh yeast.

I would check gravity, but 48 hours is too early, let it go another 2 days and check gravity, re pitch if needed.
