4 year old cacoa nibs

I bought some cacoa nibs about 4 years ago. They've been in a box in a closet for about 3 of those after a move and then in the freezer for another year. Any ideas whether I should just toss them or not? They were never removed from their oxygen barrier package. I recently brewed a stout and a porter and was considering using them.

Should be okay but for $5 I'd buy fresh...

Open the bag and chew a pinch of nibs. If they taste chocolatey good, use 'em, if not, punt 'em...
