3Gal BIAB Strike Temp?

Hi All - This may sound like a basic question but for some reason i'm not finding a clear answer. I'm looking to understand what the strike temp should be for biab smaller batch (3gal). Not sure if batch size has any bearing or not. But searching around and diff calcs, ive seen it from using 2 degrees above desired mash temp, 12 degrees above mash temp and anywhere in between. I'm doing around 6.2lb grain, 4.5 gal water in an ekettle if that matters.

I do 3 gal BIAB batches as well, but what I mean by that is 3 gal of wort going into the fermentor. Is that what you mean, or 3 gal before boil? I haven't found an exact number on mine yet, but it's usually around 8-10 degrees above where you want to end up.
 
Not to sound too snarky, but even if you get the "correct" answer you're only going to know if it works by trying it out on your system and seeing the results. It's not the worst thing in the world if you have to correct the temperature with some hot or cold water if you're off by a few degrees.
 
Yea ya gotta play around a bit and keep records. I made a spread sheet to try to figure out strike temp depending on grain weight and desired mash temp. Hope this pic is readable
