So, I recently swapped out my old camco 5500w elements for new all stainless steel 5500w elements from ebrewsupply.com. The base of my old ones were rusting something terribly and the nut was seizing on the element. Does anyone have any experience with these? I have them in my HLT and BK. Now I'm concerned that I will get scorched wort in the BK.

Because other posts I've read said that they can because of the material. Though, my thinking is that it's no different than a propane burner under a kettle. Just looking for any experience out there honestly.

it makes no difference really. the watt density / amount of surface area is the same whether its incolony or the shiny stainless, the tan beerstone buildup has been reported to be easier to remove from the incolony but I ve used both and they are really about the same in practice. (BTW the black incolony is still stainless)
