I am going to be buying a 3 gallon cooler for Partial Mashing. Unfortunately, there are only 2 and 5 gallon sold locally. My question is more on the shape and size. What I can find is shorter, larger diameter Igloo coolers and taller Gott Rubbermaid coolers. While Palmer says something about having a taller mash is better, I wonder if it would be better to get a wider cooler for stirring the grains, etc. What do you all think?

Go to ACE.com or heck, I will build you a 3 gallon MLT for $76 complete with a false bottom, ball valve and thru the wall digital therm. :D

This is what I was trying to say: Walmart, Target, Home Depot nor Ace has the 3 gallon. I can't find it locally. The issue is which one (shorter and wider as opposed to taller and skinner) should I buy?

Taller is okay... I have had 10" deep grain beds and been fine...
