3/32 hole 5/32 centers perf for 5bbl MLT?

We commonly use 3/32 hole on 5/32 centers perforated sheet metal for our home brew mash tuns. I’m designing a cheap mash tun capable of 5bbl. Will this material suffice?

It will. I've seen some very large perforated SS false bottoms. Make sure the supporting base is adequately designed and use a heavier gauge sheet.

16 gauge will work. The support base will hold 90% of the weight.
