Just brewed a Northern Brewer extract recipe today (115th Dream Hopbursted Imperial IPA). This had a full 60min boil with an Amber malt syrup (6lb) with a Gold malt syrup (6lb) for the final 15min and some corn sugar at flameout. I hadn't done an extract recipe before that had two additions of extract. What is the purpose of the late addition?
