I scored a 120 gallon stainless water tank from the scrap yard today, its dented but nothing i cant hammer out. Im going to cut it in two to make a Boil kettle and Mash tun. Im interested in 20 gallon batches for now.
Long term id like to be able to do 200 liter batches, which would conveniently fit into 4 standard 50 liter sanke kegs. That would be ideal, but im not sure reality will match up to that. Iv done some quick math, a 50 gallon MT, could potentially mash 120 lbs of grain, or more comfortably mash 100 lbs. This is good because it matches a 200 liter 1.050-1.060 beer. That would leave me with a 70 gallon kettle. This is where i might need some input, im not sure if i can get 200 liters finished from a 265 liter kettle, not comfortably anyways.
Sorry for the measurements bouncing, canadian metric system, what can i say. Ill take a pic of the thing tomorrow before i cut it up.
