I talked with the tech department at Auber Instruments and also called the companies that make all the items I am using to verify there will be enough power, etc. Everything checks out.
Currently, I have a Auber 2362 that I use to monitor temperatures with an RTD probe. It sounda an alarm when the temperature gets either too hot or too cold. I also have manual control over a 110v Solenoid and a 110v Hot Surface Ignitor (HSI). What I mean is I have a switch that when I flip it, the HSI comes on. A second switch controls a solenoid valve that allows gas to flow to the burner. What I do now is flip the switch controlling HSI and let it heat up for 3-5 seconds. Then I flip the switch for the gas which is then ignited.
Well...I want to go a little bit more automated but I don't want to buy a bunch of other stuff. So I found a timer that I can use that will wait a set amount of time after it is energized before it energizes whatever it is hooked up to. Here's a link: http://www.icmcontrols.com/DelayonMake-Timer-with-11023-seconds-switch-selectable-time-delay-universal-18240-VAC-Prodview.html
So what will happen after I get this all wired is the Auber 2362 will monitor temperatures. When the temp drops below the set point, it will energize the HSI and the timer at the same time. The HSI will immediately begin to heat up (it only takes 3 seconds) and the timer will begin to "count down" for 4 seconds and will then energize the solenoid valve which will allow the flow of gas to the burner.
I know that's a lot of background an perhaps unnecessary info but I wanted people to be clear what was happening. So I put together the following wiring diagram and I'm hoping someone can look at it and verify everything is correct. I am NOT an electrician and I don't know how to properly create wiring diagrams. To be clear, the switches or little lever-looking things in the lines are on/off switches on the control panel so if I need to, I can turn things off.
Thanks in advance.
