On the day after. April 29th. In the late morning while you are hung over and debating whether to pee again or sleep it off, know that I will be running my first marathon from Big Sir to Carmel, CA.

Party like you weren't me.

Wish Kaiser could make it. I remember drinking dopple-pepsi when I first met you guys (minus Boston, he was too stuck-up back then). That Dopple-pepsi was a freaking awesome beer. And then many more great ones right after that. :)

You should fly up and visit your buddy Kai in March.

I'll be there to get way too drunk and embarrass myself once again. By the way, that link is to last year's festival.

No, I think that it says 2006 by mistake. 4-28 is a Saturday.

Yeah, too bad you had to go back to your hotel at 5 PM you big weenie. :D

I haven't said that I can't make it ;)
I'll have to see if we can fit in a trip to NC around that festival. I don't think I will have a problem convincing the wife since she misses her friends she had down there :)

Kai

I'll mark the date on my calendar.

What kind of post-festival are you guys thinking?

It's REALLY too bad the evening sessions are a less mature crowd. We could do a brewery tour in Holly Springs in the afternoon and then hit the festival afterward.

We need volunteers to host the after-party and a couple of designated drivers.

I can probably host and drive to/from the festival. However, if we come back to my place after the festival.... I will get drunk and won't be driving anyone back to hotels or houses at midnight. :D

I'll run the after party past SWMBO. We've got a couple of small kids here, but things stayed relatively calm at BOSTON's after the Oct festival, so I expect we would not be disturbing the little ones too much.

Just a heads up to those coming down for the festival and planning to bring homebrew with them....

The April beer fesival is just over 10 weeks away. Plan your brew dates accordingly.

I should have Holy Grail peaking and a fresh-off-the-dryhops batch of Kaduva ready for April 28th. I'll probably push out another batch in addition to those two, because the Kaduva doesn't need to be brewed until the latter half of March.

edit: The afterparty is at my place. SWMBO is taking the DD duties. She might not actually go to the festival, but is willing to drop-off and pick-up some people.

Oh no! I think my in-laws will be in town during this festival. Either that or this is the day they're leaving. Either way, I probably can't make it now.

 I would have thought either way you'd definitely be here?? :drunk:

I talked to SWMBO and the in-laws should be gone by the 27th or the 28th so now it looks like we can make it. The in-laws would love the festival but they have to drive back to VT.

My brew partner and I are planning on riding the Harley's up for it. Any good hotels near the brewfest???

Do you want a room close to the actual brew fest (Downtown Raleigh) or close to the raucous after-party @ Walker's (Cary, NC)?

I would love to be close to the after party but it might be better to be within walking distance of the brew fest....

Why is that?

Are you planning on doing both sessions or something?

EDIT: The after party is where its at. ;)

Can we discuss.....?

**Afternoon session? (12-4)?
**After-party @ Walker's?
**Brewing on Sunday @ Walker's or is that too much?
**2 minivans w/ 2 Designated Driver's?

It's a go. I already discussed it with SWMBO. I'll be brewing, Dude will be brewing. Boston? You going to sleep on the couch all day or brew? :D

SWMBO is pregnant, so that takes care of one van and one DD.

I think we should try to break the kettle record (4). We could possibly have (6) kettles if Todd & Dude brew. That would certainly be a sight.
