So I'm on my favorite hops website and I can get 8oz of brambling cross for 8 dollars but there from 2013. I know I can expect at least half of the alpha acids to have been lost but what if I use it as a flavor/aroma hop is it worth it or have the farmazene, humolone and other compounds that I can't remember or spell dissapeared too?

The hops should have been sealed and flushed with nitrogen, so the degradation shouldn't been too bad. Where did you get the estimate of half the AA content?

It was in one of my books but the study didn't say whether or not they were sealed just said refrigerated

You can find details on how certain hops lose AA over time. I think they test them at 6 months, and then you can calculate based on that info.

Storage life depends on the variety as well.

Look at Brewerslair.com. They have a calculator. Just increase the amount to make up for the loss. That's a decent price and they should be fine.
