I have two 2 gallon kegs. A corny top with a ball lock on one side and a 1/4 inch (acme?) on the other...any thoughts?

Were these by chance Taylor syrup kegs?

Does the other fitting look like the one in this picture? Placement of the fitting may be different.

Here are a few pics...they are similar to the one above. I gather adapters can be purchased for these for functional use.

Those are Taylor syrup kegs. Originally sold for flavor syrup for Taylor soft serve Ice cream machines. The pic I posted was a 1 gallon keg, it looks like yours are the 2 gallon versions.

You can modify them, I posted some mod pics and parts required in the thread below. You won't need to add a pressure relief valve as your kegs have one. FYI, the gas side fitting on these is 1/8 npt.

Thank you for the info. I'm going to find the fittings and try to make these work. Sorry SpottedDogBrewing, but you will be offered these first if I can't use them for some reason. To answer your question, yes...the ball lock fitting will screw off...the other will need two adapters before a ball lock will fit...

I think when you get them converted you will be very happy with them. I love my 1 gallon version for taking beers to our homebrew club meetings. I can fit the keg with a mini regulator and a paintball CO2 tank into a small backpack cooler.

They are pretty hard to come by used. I always watch for more of the 1 gallon size, I have not seen any pop up since I was able to buy 1 on here. I did contact a Taylor Company parts distributer regarding ordering them new. They quoted me at $139 and change plus shipping for a new 1 gallon. Then it would still need to be modified with a gas ball lock valve.

I just stumbled across them while visiting some family. I bought them from a family friend who was going to keg some beer with a brew master and, well, I bought them in my infant journey to home brewing...a long story short...

I have one that looks very similar to this one. I took off the fitting on the lid (it was broken) and replaced it with a minivalve and a 1/8 mpt to hose barb. I was just looking at it sitting in the basement the other day thinking I should try to get rid of it.

PM Me at some point... I got one of the 1 gallon taylor tanks... I think these have the same threads and I can PM you the information this weekend once I get a chance to lookup the parts. It is about $7 or so to convert it.
