2.5 gallon batch questio

Ian getting ready to brew my first batch of beer and was wondering if using a 5 gallon plastic Carboy would be ok for fermenting a 5 gallon batch?

From my understanding the co2 released should act as a buffer for the oxygen to get in?

Any input would be helpful!

I've done it. I wouldn't go larger that a 5, but I've gone with 5 gallons.

yes you should be fine, I have done many 3 gallon batches in 5 gallon buckets with no problems.
