In my haste I accidently used 1 Step Cleaner to sanitize my equipment for transfer from bucket fermenter to carboy- just misread the labels. Is this going to be enough to sterilize? I'm a clean freak by nature.

This is a major debate among homebrewers. One Step is not labelled as a sanitizer because of gov't regs (ie. the company didn't want to spend the money getting the product certified as a sanitizer). It is, however, considered a sanitizer and is sold as such by many homebrew suppliers (see www.northernbrewer.com).

Seeing as how OneStep is all I have used so far with no problems, I think you'll be fine. I know that the only reason many homebrewers use iodophor instead is cost.

Thanks for the reply. I feel better knowing 50bux and 4days waiting aren'l likely to go to waste!
